Michigan State College Shooting: Somewhere around Three Killed, Suspect Saw as Dead

The Michigan State University (MSU) campus was thrown into chaos on Monday evening after a shooting that left at least three dead and five injured, according to the university’s police department. The suspected shooter was found dead outside the campus, with the police saying it appeared he had died from a “self-inflicted gunshot”.

[1] Five other injured individuals were being treated at a nearby hospital and were in critical condition.

[2] The university’s campus was closed for 48 hours and all classes and extracurricular activities were canceled during that period.

[3]The shooter, a 43-year-old man, had no connection to the university and the motive for the shooting remains a mystery. The violence came 14 months after the deadly mass shooting at Oxford High School in Oakland County, Michigan in 2021.

[4]Governor Gretchen Whitmer released a statement on Twitter saying she was being briefed on the East Lansing shooting .
