KARACHI: Pakistan Worldwide Carriers (PIA), which is confronting serious income issues, dropped a few homegrown and global flights.

Other than that, the departure from Islamabad to Karachi (PK301) is dropped, Islamabad to Riyadh (PK753) is postponed by three hours and Lahore to Karachi (PK305) is deferred by over two hours.

 

PIA's monetary burdens

On September 7, the PIA had said it grounded five out of its 13 rented airplane with additional possibility of establishing four extra planes because of the predominant monetary crunch.

 

The PIA had requested a crisis bailout of Rs22.9 billion which was dismissed by the Financial Coordination Board of trustees (ECC).
