Chemical shots could be utilized as treatment for low sex drive

Clinical preliminary studies that demonstrated the injections can support sexual reactions suggest that people with poor sex drives may benefit from kisspeptin infusions.

The chemical can increase action in the parts of the brain associated with excitement and curiosity in people who are irritated by their low drives, preliminary studies have shown.

Beyond increasing sex-related brain activity, experts said some women who received the chemical also reported feeling "more heated," while men reported feeling "bliss about sex" and experiencing "penile distension" while watching a sensuous movie as part of the evaluation.

One preliminary participant, a 44-year-old man who claimed to have tried to maintain relationships because his sexual appetite was so low, went on to give birth to a child.
